FAQ

When introducing to new audiences, very often people ask what landscape architecture is. The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) advised to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) a very comprehensive description of what landscape architects do:

Landscape Architects conduct research and advise on planning, design and stewardship of the outdoor environment and spaces, both within and beyond the built environment, and its conservation and sustainability of development. For the profession of landscape architect, a degree in landscape architecture is required.

This is a rather broad scope and very often landscape architects choose to focus and specialise in a particular aspect of the profession, for example design or landscape planning or landscape assessment. LArch is a landscape studio practicing landscape design, with particular dedication to ecology-inspired planting design. Our landscape services are complemented by arboricultural and ecology surveys.
